Job Description

Are you a committed, hard-working individual with an interest in general laboratory support? An urgent temporary position has arisen in Swindon for an enthusiastic person with an interest in science (a degree is not required) and the ability to offer helpful support to the lab. The Company
A major Pharmaceutical service organisation based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Across 30+ sites worldwide, the company offers a range of drug development, manufacturing, packaging and distribution services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Swindon site is a R&D and manufacturing facility, producing both large and smaller quantities of patented products, including some sterile processing. This is an excellent environment in which to gain new experiences and develop your skills. 

The Role
This is a varied position in which you will undertake different duties to support the lab housekeeping, including managing chemical stocks, assisting in glassware cleaning, preparing for audits and inspections, entering data on the in-house computer system, disposing of lab waste, completing GMP / GLP documentation, and helping the Lab Scientists who are conducting various analytical tests. chemical analyses (e.g. HPLC, GC) and physical evaluation of a variety of Pharmaceutical dosage forms. You will work in, and maintain, a safe working environment, including making sure that the lab complies with health and safety procedures and SOPs.

The Contract
The contract is offered on an initial 3 months basis, with the possibility of extension beyond this, though this is not guaranteed. You will be paid a competitive hourly rate, equivalent to up to £17,000 pa, in line with industry standards including holiday allowance.

The successful candidate does not need to have a scientific degree, but graduates will be considered. Above all else, you must be a hard-working, reliable individual with some experience from the lab and proven experience of maintaining and clean, efficient working space.

This is a temporary role for 3 months initially, with the chance of extension beyond this.
