James Hume is recruiting for a Project Manager to join a pioneering synthetic biology company who are utilising this approach to streamline the discovery, development and production of biologics, cell & gene therapies. They have a unique platform technology that enables them to engineer DNA using automated systems and is a core theme across all the services they offer. They are now expanding because of the impact their technology is having plus the drive to bring other platforms to the market. Thus they need to recruit a Project Manager to oversee R&D Programmes working with external and internal stakeholders to ensure their smooth progress and delivery.
The purpose of the Project Manager role is to manage customer specific R&D programmes to ensure these progress through milestones to delivery. Operating as the primary point of contact between the company and client during the lifecycle of the project. Due to the positioning of the role you will be involved in the scoping of costs, recommendation of sales prices, setting out of resources and the milestones. Then driving projects forward using your leadership, technical, team building and project management abilities to meet deadlines. Using your leadership, influencing, technical and project management skills to do so.

The company are at the cutting edge of the use of Synthetic Biology to streamline the discovery, development and production of biologics, cell & gene therapies. Their approach combines cutting edge use of bioinformatics taking advantage of algorithms and other tools that drive forward the rational designs of complex biological systems at the DNA level. These are then assembled on their automated platform technology which enables them to develop systems for the discovery, engineering, and production of antibodies, viral vectors, packaging & production cell lines for lentivirus and AAV manufacture, CRISPR libraries and CRISPR engineering.

Desired Skills and Experience:
You will need at least a BSc in a biological science or business related degree that is combined with project management experience in the Pharma, Contract Service, or Biotech sectors. You will need experience of working to quality related systems such as GMP / GLP / GCP or similar e.g. ISO. Along with practical knowledge of project management and process improvement techniques, with the ability to drive forward projects to delivery.
