Job Description

My client seeks an experienced Lead Engineer (Technical Expert) to join them at an exciting time due to the growth of their ‘Bespoke’ vehicle product development and manufacturing activities.  Having recently won some major projects they now seek an experienced Lead Engineer/Technical Expert to take ownership and accountability for the successful system delivery against customer requirements, projects include Military, NGO and OGAs.

Working as the Technical Expert/Lead Engineer you will be responsible for all system integration and technical deliverables as well as providing the team with leadership and motivation. You will be given the opportunity to put your stamp on the product as well as influencing a positive, productive and enjoyable working culture.  Meeting customers’ requirements is key and you will manage risk management, adopting right first-time system engineering principles to drive efficiency

Suitable candidates will possess the following skills/experience: -
  • Land vehicle system engineering is highly advantageous (although not essential)
  • Automotive OEM or complex Tier 1 systems experience
  • Experience of working within the Defence industry is essential
  • Will have used systems design tools (e.g. DOORS)
  • Use of project management software tools such as SAP, ERP
  • Understanding and experience of the application of transversal engineering disciplines (environmental and EMC qualification, safety, security, human factors, ARM, ILS)
  • Experience of delivering project management of a technical product from concept phase through to prototyping and trial is key.
