Job Description

Next Phase are now seeking further Manufacturing Scientists due to demand to join this expanding Biotech who are manufacturing their T – Cell therapies for use in Phase I and Phase II trials and are based in Stevenage.  These opportunities are within their Technical Operations Group based in Stevenage who are responsible for the development of CAR – T manufacturing processes, their manufacture and release for clinical trials.  They need to recruit scientists who can run manufacturing cell based methods and processes for GMP clinical trial manufacture. 

The Company:

A pioneering and ambitious Biopharmaceutical company who develop next-generation, programmed T-cell therapies to treat haematological cancers and solid tumours. The organisation has existed for 4 years and is very well funded, with a clear strategy and expansion plan for the next 3 years and beyond. Scientifically, the company has extremely exciting technologies, using a broad suite of proprietary and modular T-cell programming to engineer precisely targeted, controlled and highly active T cells. Commercially, they have a pipeline of product candidates in development (for the treatment of haematological malignancies and solid tumours) and is increasing its GMP production capacity. Based in a state-of-the-art facility in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, you will join a team that is doing something genuinely meaningful.

The Opportunity:

The role of Manufacturing Scientist is part of the Technical Operations team whose purpose is to develop, manufacture and release products for use within clinical trials.  You will be responsible for the running of cell based manufacturing methods as the core focus of this role, mentoring more junior team members to support their career development.  This also includes the design and running of training programmes to support your career development.  As a Manufacturing Scientist, you will also have compliance responsibilities such as batch documentation, process documentation and involvement in audit programmes.

Alongside the day to day responsibilities you will be given additional training to further support the development of your career.  This is due to their strong career development programme which you will be a part of as soon as you join.  Providing training in areas to broaden your experience to help your career develop in the direction you would like it to take. 

Desired Skills and Competencies:

For this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience in a relevant biotech / cell therapy / vaccine / antibody biopharmaceutical environment in compliance to GMP or similar regulated environments. You will need to be educated to at least BSc level in a relevant life science, a higher-level qualification is advantageous but not necessary You will need to be familiar with biopharmaceutical and cell based techniques such as cell processing and cell based assays.
