Job Description
Sitting directly within a uniquely modelled VC-come-biotech incubator, this vacancy in Boston, MA would best suit a person with a high interest in an internal Business Analytics function that is unrestricted and offers direct exposure to the entire lifecycle of building a rare disease biotech business from scratch.
From asset hunting, due diligence, de-risking, funding, startup, development and exit, this company has an internationally recognised team of highly accomplished rare disease executives that own everything in-house. This means no external and potentially conflicting partner reporting lines or investment hurdles and allows for their business analysis to start up timelines to take just 3 months (versus the industry standard of c. 18months).
Reporting directly to the extremely friendly and knowledgable Chief Business Officer (who himself is a molecular biologist), the successful candidate will help with early asset hunting and first-line business analysis (modelling, market analysis, excel management, reaching out to tech transfer offices etc.) of potentially investable assets for the treatment of rare genetic diseases to be spun-out in to new biotech businesses.
Due to the level of exposure in this position there will also be regular "one off projects" offering yet deeper, wider, broader elements to the role not usually seen in likes of equity houses or consulting companies.
Admittedly, due to the nature of the company, they are not the easiest to secure a positon within due to high levels of competition from other candidates. However, if you match the key criteria below then we'd love to hear from you and will match your motivation with support if an application is made;
- BSc/MSc/PhD in a lifescience discipline
- 2 years' experience as a Business Analyst (not necessarily in the pharmaceutical industry)
- Ability to be based in Boston area
