Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Biotech as a Manufacturing Scientists which is a role with excellent growth and career progression to manufacture their biopharmaceutical products.  They have developed a technology that enables them to engineer T – Cells that are more active, engaged and targeted in seeking out cancer cells.  They already have 3 therapies at clinical trials with others under development in the pipeline to make the transition to the clinic.  They need to recruit multiple Manufacturing Scientists who have experience of working in an aseptic or sterile GMP regulated environment. 

The Company
A pioneering and ambitious Biopharmaceutical company who develop next-generation, programmed T-cell therapies to treat haematological cancers and solid tumours. The organisation has existed for 4 years and is very well funded, with a clear strategy and expansion plan for the next 3 years and beyond. Scientifically, the company has extremely exciting technologies, using a broad suite of proprietary and modular T-cell programming to engineer precisely targeted, controlled and highly active T cells. Commercially, they have a pipeline of product candidates in development (for the treatment of haematological malignancies and solid tumours) and is increasing its GMP production capacity. Based in a state-of-the-art facility in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, you will join a team that is doing something genuinely meaningful.

The Opportunity
This is a dynamic role where you will have the chance to take on additional responsibilities alongside the core manufacturing focus to develop your career within this fast-growing biotech.  The focus of this role is to manufacture their CAR T cell products in an aseptic environment to GMP regulations.

Alongside the day to day manufacture you will also mentor more junior members of the team in their work as part of their development.  As well as other responsibilities to help with the development of your career such as involvement in investigations, audits, designing training programmes, and batch documentation. 

They have a strong career development programme meaning you will have the chance to learn new skills to progress your career to more senior or more technical positions for example.

Desired Skills and Competencies
For this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience in an aseptic or sterile environment to GMP regulations manufacturing pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, antibodies, or biotech products.  You do not need to have direct experience as you can be trained on their techniques, what is important is knowledge of working in aseptic, sterile or clean room environments to GMP.  With experience of working with more junior scientists and a close relationship with QC and QA.
