Job Description

A cutting edge synthetic biology company is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to be responsible for seeking our new and managing existing relationships in Europe.  They are a growing company with an increasing presence in the market because of their cutting-edge technologies and the solutions they provide for the discovery, development and manufacture of Cell & Gene Therapies.  They are seeking someone to promote their technologies in the Mainland Europe region who has the ability to adapt to each situation to develop a bespoke solution for each client.

The company are at the cutting edge of the use of Synthetic Biology who have developed mammalian cell engineering technologies offering products and services to support the discovery, development and manufacture of Cell & Gene Therapies.  They have split these to 3 main areas: CRISPR / Gene Editing, Viral Vectors, and Protein Engineering.  The technology they have developed provides solutions to the major challenges facing the Biopharma sector using their proprietary suite of technologies and automated cell engineering capabilities.

Job Summary:
The role of the Business Development Manager is to take responsibility for the Mainland Europe territory to promote their unique technologies and services by seeking new relationships and managing new ones.  You will be reporting to the VP for Business Development who is based in the US and you will work with them to develop and implement the strategy for your territory.  Mapping out the key companies and decisions makers to then make approaches with the purpose to develop a longer-term collaboration.

Due to the nature of the company’s technology you will have the ability to build bespoke packages depending on the client’s needs to best meet these and deal with changing situations.  As they are a growing company this is an excellent opportunity to take the role on and develop it further and earn further rewards and future career developments.

Desired Skills and Experience:
For this opportunity, you will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant scientific area with experience of working in the biologics, cell or gene therapy sector.  You will need to have sales experience in one of these sectors promoting similar services and products, preferably with European experience.  If you have an understanding of Intellectual Property and / or the licensing process this is an advantage to your application.   Experience as a scientist is not essential but is advantageous to your application.

Please Note this role is to be based in the UK and comes with generous OTE which is not capped, car allowance and additional benefits such as pension, life insurance, and health insurance.
