Job Description

Based in London, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Centred Research Consultant to join an innovative design consultancy, providing support to clients from the consumer, industrial and medical device sectors.

The Role

This position requires a unique blend of human factors understanding and contextual research and the successful candidate will be pivotal in supporting third party clients with not only their products and services but also their brands and customer experiences. Translating customer needs into innovative design, via research and analysis of users. Working with a variety of clients from the medical and consumer sectors you will work closely with clients to promote long term working relationships and will be integral in pitches to new and existing clients in respect to exciting products and solutions that will have a real impact on user’s lives. Responsible for project oversight and resolving problems along the way you will devise project scope from planning through t presentation of end results and recommendations.

My client has a global presence and has won numerous design awards for the products they have produced. They are a collaboration of Designers, Engineers and Researchers working to complete projects all under one roof.

Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have User Research consultancy or in-house experience and be adept at planning large user research projects and applying these insights into product design and business strategy. You may be from an Industrial Design, Human Factors or Psychology background with a real passion for User Centred Research. During your career to date you will have gained strong foundations in both the practical and theoretical knowledge of qualitative research and the appropriate techniques to gain an understanding of the user’s preferences, constraints and desires. Reporting to the Creative Director you will work closely with multi-disciplined colleagues from Usability, Design Research and Design Insights to bring together innovative solutions to help your clients excel in their markets.
