Job Description

A fast-developing Biotech whose technology is based on programmed T – cells and located in west London are seeking Research Scientists is recruiting for to join their Viral Vector R&D team.  The purpose of the role is to support the development of processes for the manufacture of Lentiviral and Retroviral vectors for use within clinical trials.

The role of Research Associate is to support the development of processes for the manufacture of lentiviral and retroviral vectors and their transfer to the manufacturing facility in Stevenage.  This is a GMP environment where you will be responsible for running manufacturing processes, using cell based methods and following SOP’s.  You will be involved in the creation of documentation, the development of processes and working with 3rd Parties to help give you the experience to move to a more senior position as they continue to grow.  Additionally, you will help with the maintenance of the laboratory and the management of reagents along with other materials.

They are a clinical stage Biotech who have developed CAR – T cell therapies for the treatment of cancers by developing programmed cells using their modular technology to engineer precisely targeted, controlled and active therapies.  To complement their therapies at the clinical stage they have a strong pipeline behind these including those due to reach trials soon.  The organisation has existed for 4 years and is very well funded, with a clear strategy and expansion plan for the next 3 years to bring their current therapies to commercial launch and beyond.

Desired Skills and Experience
For this opportunity, you will need to have experience of working in a GMP environment with experience of cell based techniques as well as the production or fermentation or cell culture and / or purification of biologics or similar products.  You will need to have a BSc or MSc in a relevant subject e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or biomedical sciences for example.  Please note this role is based in West London with travel to their North West London and Stevenage sites as required on an occasional basis.
