The company are a centre of excellence that is at the forefront of accelerating the drug discovery process to bring new technologies to the clinic. They provide solutions to the challenges faced by academic and SME’s when developing new technologies to enable these to reach the clinic. They offer technical expertise centered on technology innovation bringing together biomarkers for precision medicine, drug delivery & pre-clinical imaging, complex cell models, target engagement & validation. Across these areas they have their expertise, drug discovery complemented by state of the art medicines discovery technology.
A key focus area for them is the Pre-Clinical Imaging and its application to pharmacokinetic, drug distribution, efficacy & toxicology, and biomarker studies to advance their collaborator’s drug discovery programmes. They have expanded their capabilities by creating a state of the art imaging suite that includes PET imaging, high frequency ultrasound, IVIS near infrared imaging, computed tomography and gamma counting. The purpose of this is to ensure they are well placed to support their collaborators with the latest technologies including a long-term partnership with a major charity to develop biomarker strategies. These projects require significant imaging resources as part of this wider project.
They are seeking a Senior Scientist to support the delivery of the wider portfolio who has experience of pre-clinical imaging techniques in support of translational projects by providing imaging data. You will be responsible for designing and running preclinical imaging projects with the purpose to monitor, assess and characterise novel therapeutics. You will be working with Lead and other Senior Scientists involved in this and related projects as part of a collaborative efforts. This includes the informatics team to analyse imaging data to deliver quantitative biomarker end points. Working to develop in – vivo models to then utilise these by working under HO project imaging license. As well as developing imaging capabilities across a range of platforms and therapeutic areas
Desired Skills & Experience:
For the role Senior Scientist, you will need to have a PhD with proven pre-clinical imaging experience and possessing PIL ABC. With the ability to deliver complex pre-clinical imaging studies with knowledge of one or more disease areas such as neuroscience, immunology, oncology or fibrotic diseases. Experience of working with open bench radioactivity and associated regulations is also desireable.
