Job Description

A central London based biotech who are at the cutting edge of cell & gene therapy research are recruiting for an Analytical Data Scientist to provide experimental design, data modelling and analysis expertise to drive forward their research portfolio.  They collaborate with both academia and industry to take cutting edge therapies across the translational gap into the clinic and then through the clinical trial process to launch.
The Analytical Data Scientist with sit within their R&D function working with the different teams e.g. process development and analytical development to play a key role in the development of quantitative methods for product and process characterisation.  This will be across a range of therapies that cover a diverse set of therapeutic areas working at the cutting edge of research in the development of advanced therapies.  
You will be supporting colleagues with experimental design, sampling and data analysis activities.  Applying your expertise using scripting programmes such as MATLAB, R or Python to analyse and summarise complex datasets as well as applying statistical methods.  There is a wider team that you will be a part of but there is a high degree of autonomy in this role which gives you exposure to gain new experience to help develop your career in the longer term.    

Desired Skills and Competencies:  
For this opportunity, you will be at least educated to degree level – preferably with an MSc or PhD and experience of analysing large data sets with experience of using R, MATLAB and / or Python programming languages.  With the ability to script programmes and applying statistical methods.  In addition, experience of automating data analysis is preferable for this role as is knowledge of data clustering techniques, and automated high throughput data.  If you have experience with NGS this is advantageous but not essential.
