We are looking for a commercially-minded individual with a LLB degree and demonstrable experience in handling a diverse range of legal matters. This is a permanent position with an excellent salary and benefits; and full details will be provided on application. The company offers strong career progression opportunities, within an ambitious and growing company environment.
A centre of excellence that is at the forefront of creating a viable and sustainable cell and gene therapy industry. You will be based in the company’s headquarters in Central London (near to London Bridge) where they have built a leading multidisciplinary team that has the ability to take a therapy from concept through the development cycle to the market. They collaborate with both academia and industry and they are able to provide the scientific, clinical and commercial expertise needed to overcome the challenges that hinder the commercialisation of these fast-developing, cutting-edge technologies. Their longer-term aim is to make the UK a global leader in the development and commercial exploitation of therapies. They are making great strides towards this aim with therapies entering phase 2 clinical trials and building credible cases to be progressed to stage 3. Added to this, they are expanding their manufacturing and development operations to meet increased demand for their services from the academic and commercial sectors.
The purpose of this In-House Lawyer role is to advise colleagues on a wide range of contractual and legal matters. You will take the lead on negotiations to make sure that the company’s interests are protected and that the company can meet the contractual obligations into which it enters. This is a broad position covering many aspects of legal practice and you will provide advice in a variety of contractual situations including property leases, collaboration agreements, intellectual property licences, clinical trial agreements, sales terms and conditions. Ultimately, you will become the “go to” legal expert for the company and will manage interactions with the external legal counsel.
The successful candidate will have a strong legal education (i.e. LLB degree) and some significant experience which includes working in the Life Science sector. It will be helpful to have worked with Clinical Trial Agreements, using and amending NHS / ABPI / BIA template agreements. You will also ideally have a broad range of experience of legal and IP issues that can arise when drafting R&D-based agreements, such as chain of title to IP rights and the enforceability of such contracts.
Full details will be provided on request.
