A unique Biotech who are pioneering the methods for the manufacture of high quality dbDNA as well as leading research for the development of DNA based therapies are recruiting a Manufacturing Scientist to join their Translational Group.<br /> <br /><strong>Role Summary:</strong><br /> <br />This opportunity is created due to the continued growth of the company to recruit for a Manufacturing Scientist to join their translational team. They are currently developing a gene therapy and 2 other vaccines with a pipeline behind these under development. The purpose of the role is to manufacture their novel doggy bone DNA (dbDNA) for use in house as well as for external collaboration work and use in clinical trials. Working in an aseptic environment to GMP and following SOP’s in the manufacturing process with the responsibility for all documentation. Using molecular biological and biochemistry techniques to manufacture the batches. <br /> <br />As a Manufacturing Scientist, you will work closely with the Head of Translational Research and Senior Scientists to set out the project requirements to then work autonomously to deliver batches. This is a highly collaborative role where you will be working closely with internal colleagues as well as the external collaborator – often communicating on a daily basis. In addition to the manufacture you will have the chance to work on platform development projects to help broaden your skill set and progress your career in this fast-developing Biotech.<br /> <br /><strong>Desired Skills and Competencies:</strong><br /><strong> </strong><br />For this opportunity, you will need to have at least a BSc or preferably a higher-level qualification with experience in the manufacture of DNA, small molecules, or proteins for example. You will need to have strong molecular biology and biochemistry skills with experience of working with DNA, preferably in a commercial environment or regulated environment. Experience of GMP is advantageous to your application but not essential.<br /> <br /><strong>The Company:<br /></strong><strong> </strong><br />A pioneering company who have developed a revolutionary platform technology for the in vitro DNA amplification method for the production of synthetic DNA that can be used in therapeutics, viral vectors, diagnostic, and synthetic biology applications. They are based in state of the art laboratories in Hampton and are a dynamic company who are leaders in the field with great potential going forward that is now being realised as they enter a phase of growth. <br /> <br />The Translational Group are responsible for developing gene therapies and DNA based vaccines alongside external collaborative projects to develop methods and manufacture DNA for use in clinical trials. Behind this there are others in the development pipeline to be realised. This is a growing function with the Manufacturing Scientist adding to this to further develop their capabilities.<br />
