We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Services Support Technician to work in a Pharmaceutical company each evening from 4pm to 9pm, Monday to Friday, to cover maternity leave up until June 2020. Because you will also be working in a controlled sterile environment you will need to wear face mask, hood, safety goggles and gloves.
A pioneering UK-based Pharmaceutical company who develop and manufacture liquid vaccines under strictly controlled sterile conditions. This vacancy has arisen at their main site in Worthing, West Sussex. There are around 270 employees and the company has an excellent reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, staff morale and ongoing development. They manufacture a range of drug products and have very strictly regulated GMP clean room and aseptic production areas.
You will work in a small team that supports the GMP-regulated production of liquid vaccines. Manufacturing usually takes place until around 4pm each day, so you will start working when the production is coming to an end. Your role will be to conduct a deep clean of the different grades of clean room, using state-of-the-art equipment and following specific procedures. You need to be comfortable with mopping large areas of floors and high walls. Some of your work will involve working in a sterile area, which will require you to be dressed head-to-toe with a full body suit, two pairs of gloves, breathing apparatus and boots.
You will also prepare components and consumable ready to be used by the production team. You will carry out important stock control duties by way of stock movements and replenishments (et.c stock laundry, waste disposal). You will ensure that there is no contamination of any equipment, including complex machinery as well as working surfaces. This will require meticulous attention to detail, taking real care over your work and ensuring that you follow all processes correctly. This is a responsible role for someone who is reliable and consistent and who takes real pride in their work.
The successful candidate will be a versatile, hard-working individual who is able to react to change quickly and demonstrates initiative and self-motivation. You would ideally have experience from a regulated Production, Manufacturing, Food, Warehouse, Hospital or Services environment. You must be able to work in a methodical, clean and tidy way while following strict industry guidelines, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to get along with people at all levels. You must be comfortable wearing full head – to – toe overalls. Previous experience working in a GMP or similar environment is desirable but not essential and will consider people from from a variety of settings including Food Production, Hospital, FMCG, Medical Device, Diagnostics, Electronics and other production / warehouse settings.
You must be happy to work 4pm – 9pm Monday to Friday and ideally start as soon as possible on a contract for a year.
