Job Description

Are you an experienced Microbiologist who has created and designed your own protocols?  A role has been created for a Microbiologist to join an exciting young immunotherapeutic company at Discovery Park in Kent. If you are a Microbiology graduate with some strong experience in a regulated commercial environment, we would love to hear from you.
The company offers a generous salary and benefits package (to be discussed on application), together with excellent training and a supportive, friendly working environment.
This is a permanent position and will be an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a company that is about to take off in terms of growth and innovation. You will be designing and performing in vitro screening of novel compounds, (Immunological and antibacterial activity) to bacterial cells. You must be enthusiastic, motivated individual who enjoys undertaking lab-based responsibilities and is keen to develop a career within a unique and scientifically challenging environment.
The Role
The role is laboratory based and would suit a researcher with hands on microbiology experience looking to progress their career in the biotechnology sector and work on a ground-breaking therapeutic platform as a key member of a highly dynamic international team.
The Company
The company, base at Discovery Park in Sandwich, Kent, is a drug discovery company developing a highly disruptive and modular therapeutics platform to treat serious infectious diseases and cancer. They are developing antibody recruiting small molecules that engage a highly potent pre-existing antibody response and redirect it to the pathogen, providing immediate immunity and rapid elimination of the organism. Furthermore, the novel mechanism of action means the molecules will have equal efficiency against drug sensitive and drug resistant pathogens.
The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background (ideally a degree in Microbiology, or similar – e.g. Biotechnology), with around three years’ experience gained in a regulated lab environment. You must have a knowledge of various Micro techniques and general lab skills (e.g. microscopy), together with a genuine enthusiasm for your work. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team, together with the ambition to develop a career within an ambitious and busy environment.

Full details will be disclosed on application - we at Next Phase look forward to hearing from you!
