Are you an experienced and motivated Procurement professional with strong organisational and prioritisation skills gained within a fast-paced setting? We have a unique opportunity for a Procurement specialist, with a leading global export organisation in Watford. This is a permanent role with a salary of up to £30,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits. The role has a broad range of responsibilities around product cost targets, vendor management, payment terms, contract negotiations and more.
This is a newly created permanent position, with accountability to work alongside the sales and finance teams. It could be an ideal step for an ambitious Buyer looking to move up to a role with creater autonomy and a more strategic focus. Pharmaceutical experience would be highly desirable but is not essential.
The Company
The company is a world class medical supplies wholesaler and distributor, specialising in importing and exporting pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to markets across the globe. They are experts at sourcing products, consolidating orders and organising shipments, no matter what the destination.
The company has a highly ambitious medium to long term expansion strategy plan and the Procurement development role is of paramount importance to the plan.
They successfully supply both branded and generic pharmaceuticals, over the counter medicines, hospital supplies, medical equipment and veterinary medicines to our clients in over 50 countries. 
The Role
The position is responsible to work with the sales team to strategically source medicinal products to client specifications from UK and overseas markets including public and private sector tenders. This includes raising orders, ensuring that product cost targets are achieved inventory levels are managed to support customer requirements, whilst preventing the accumulation of excess stock. You will also identify and suggest appropriate new products in line with corporate focus and strategy. You will be heavily involved in the selection and qualification of new vendors into the supply chain.
The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of three years’ international sourcing & procurement experience; preferred within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry. You will also need to have effective negotiation skills and be commercially driven, alongside having excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
