Job Description

A leading Biotech who specialise in mammalian engineering technologies with platforms that streamline the discovery, development and manufacture of Cell & Gene Therapies are recruiting for a Senior Analytical Development Scientist. 
The Purpose of the Senior Analytical Scientist is to develop analytical development methods and processes for protein and viral vector based therapeutics.  The role is predominantly lab based with the responsibility for supervision of technicians, with the team set to expand, and develop analytical techniques, and SOP’s that are specific to that novel project.  The projects are collaborative meaning you will be working closely with the Cell Line Development, Antibody Discovery, Process Development and Viral Vector (Lentiviral and AAV) teams.  With the responsibility for designing bespoke methods such as PCR for AAV and Lentiviral Vectors, ELISA, Western Blotting, SPR and HPLC.  As well as running cell based assays including transduction assays by FACS and integrated qPCR.
As a Senior member of the wider Process Development Group you will be working on internal platform development and external commercial projects.  With involvement on projects from the beginning from an analytical perspective to design experimental programmes define timelines allocate resources and then lead projects till completion. 
Desired Skills and experience:
You will ideally be educated to PhD or MSC level in a relevant subject with laboratory experience in either a commercial or academic setting.  You will need to be experienced with cell based assays including FACS, qPCR and ELISA’s in particular with experience of working with Viral Vectors (lentiviral and / or AAV preferably) and proteins.  Experience with HPLC is also desirable but not essential.
