Job Description

The role of Business Development Manager is an influential position with a leading UK Biotech based in Central London whose purpose is to accelerate the advancement of the Cell & Gene Therapy Sector by bridging the gap between research and commercialisation of these life changing therapies. 
The purpose of the role is to continue to build existing relationships as well as seek new opportunities by building the company’s reputation and identity in Europe with a specific focus on Germany and Benelux.  As the Business Development Manager, you will work with the BD Director to develop the strategy to be implemented.  Plus map the region to identify key accounts, understand their needs and technology gaps that can be addressed by the company’s expertise.
There is an established network that you will continue to foster along with seeking new relationships with leading academic institutions, tech transfer offices, spin out companies and industry so that there is a strong pipeline of projects.  A key part of your role will be to lead the transaction process working with the relevant internal experts including technology transfer and intellectual property.  Which will include core funded, collaborative R&D and collaborator funding.  This role is part of a wider team where you will be part of strategic business decision meetings for the territory and their wider plans.
For this opportunity you will need to be educated to at least BSc level in a relevant life science with a MSc or PhD being advantageous to your application.  You will need to have experience of working in a similar role in account management, sales, business development, or tech transfer roles in the Life Sciences sectors.  Experience of working in Europe in particular Germany or the Benelux region is advantageous to your application.  With experience of working with Intellectual Property, grant supported R&D projects, with experience of technology transfer and transacting on complex business deals. 
This is a field-based role but there is the requirement to be able to attend their central London offices regurlarly such as once a week.
