As a progressive start up my client are open to hearing from candidates who are looking for a role where they will be genuinely excited by the technology they are working with, to make a difference to patient’s lives and will embrace the culture found in successful start-ups.

Reporting directly to the Head of Research and Development and working closely with a small team, the candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, development, testing and design management of the embedded software that runs on the company’s visualization platform. You will be working closely with the Software Developer to develop software specifications and test protocols.

You will have a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science paired with ideally minimum 2 years’ experience of software development, preferably within a regulated industry ideally medical, but candidates from nuclear or defence would be considered too. You need to have excellent knowledge of C++ development under both Windows and Linux, though candidates with C# experience would also be considered. You must have experience of working within ISO 13485 AND IEC 62304 and preparing documentation in relation to risk management ISO 14971, change control, design and development process etc. Experience of developing graphical user interfaces and ideally IEC 62366 is a must have. This role would suit someone who has experience of developing real – time computer vision applications, has experience with WPF and low – level Windows graphics programming, familiarity with Python. You need to have a background of optimizing computer vision algorithms for speed, and porting OpenCV code to GPU and FPGA implementations as well as system modelling using UML or SysML.

The person who will be successful in this role needs to be able to work on their own initiative, be self-motivated when working independently and has great communication skills. The company is offering a competitive salary, pension, an excellent work/life balance with remote working fully supported when not needed at their Nottingham Research & Development hub and a chance to grow and progress with the company.
