The Head of Production will be tasked with building their manufacturing team at the Stevenage site working closely with the Director of Manufacturing to do so.  This role is broad covering the production as well as supporting technology transfer activities and validation of new processes by working closely with the Process Development team.

You will lead the GMP production of the personalised cell therapies by overseeing the day to day manufacture, and managing the compliance of the group.  Seeking ways to opitmise methods as their therapies progress by working with Process Development to become more streamlined and optimised.  Along with ensuring manufacturing are delivered in time through effective scheduling and working closely the supply chain team to pack and distribute finished products.  In this role you will not only work closely with R&D but also the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams.

This is an opportunity here you will have the chance to establish a group using your vision to be effective in all that they do and be a key part of their operations as they continue to grow.

Desired Skills and Competencies:  For this opportunity, you will need to have at least a BSc in a relevant Life Science with experience of Cell Therapy manufacture to GMP.  You will have led teams (c20people) previously with the responsibility for their line management, training & development and compliance. You will need to have experience of molecular and cell biology including cell isolation, cell and tissue culture.   With the ability to work closely with colleagues in other departments such as QC, QA and R&D.

The Company: The company are developing an approach to curing cancer that is different and enables them to meet unmet needs.  They are develoing nobvel immunotherapies that are targeting the protein markers that are unique to each person and expressed on the surface of each cancer cell.  These are called Neoantigens and their approach is to sequencing data from each patient sample in conjunction with their bioinformatics platform to identify and then develop a cell therapy to target the neoantigens.  This way a personalised treatment can be developed that targets only cancer cells not healthy tissue and destroy the tumours.
