Job Description

Following a major co-development deal with a global gene therapy organisation, this commercial stage drug development biotech, with an exceedingly innovative and unique story-so-far, now has a newly created opportunity for a highly accomplished Head of Business Development to join its leadership team.

This person will take on full accountability for delivering elevated shareholder value through the design and execution of critical commercial strategies and deal-making efforts.
 
The Opportunity
Having validated a world-first, non-viral technology for precision delivery of gene therapies, this position would suit a highly ambitious person seeking the opportunity to drive the implementation of, and deliver the solution to what is currently considered one of the greatest current hurdles to gene therapy’s evolution – safe, targeted, effective drug delivery.

This is a future-business critical opportunity, supported directly by the founding scientist and highly business savvy CEO. Primarily, you will develop and lead portfolio and product strategies for the company’s in-house pipeline and identify and negotiate partnering and out-licensing deals, targeting major deal value opportunities globally.

As the role develops, there is also an opportunity to develop the role into a wider strategic position, developing and executing on the company’s wider commercial strategy considerations, further building shareholder value.

Critical criteria


 Multi-track record of high-value (multi-million-dollar) end-to-end deal-making, ideally in the gene therapy market (Biologics may be considered)

 Developed understanding and network within gene therapy community

 Ability to travel globally as the role demands
