A brand-new role has arisen in Guildford, Surrey to join an innovative Biotech company. We are recruiting for a Senior Formulation Scientist to work on a fast-expanding portfolio of R&D projects including pharmaceuticals, healthcare and cosmeceuticals.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, hard-working individual with experience of GLP, analytical techniques such as HPLC and UV spectroscopy, as well as some experience developing new formulations to join a growing, commercial stage drug development business. The company is paying a generous salary (to be discussed on application) and this role is initially offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract (but with a very good chance of becoming permanent). You will encounter a range of development projects, from concept stage to final product.
You will join an exciting and innovative business who have developed and patented a novel drug delivery carrier. This drug delivery mechanism can be loaded with a range of ingredients, ranging from DNA to vitamins and proteins. They are also able to alter the design of their carrier to be polypharmaceutical, allowing several different methods for administration and timed release. This means the carrier can be used across the cosmetic, gene therapy, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
This is an ideal position if you want to push your career to the next level and undertake broader responsibilities and autonomy. You will be formulating liposomes as a drug carrier system for drug delivery as part of an innovative team within the companies R&D department.
• Formulation development from creation to final protocol;
• Analysis of API content in investigational samples by using HPLC or UV
• Stability and quality testing of samples;
• Material characterisation.
The successful candidate will have a bioscience degree, MSc (or similar), combined with previous formulation experience and analytical skills. Those with experience of nanotechnology/ nanoparticle/ drug carrier systems (liposomes) formulation are of particular interest.
