There’s a new position has been created for a QC Biochemist to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company in Worthing, West Sussex. This will be an excellent opportunity, with one of the most unique and highly respected pharmaceutical companies in the country.
You will work with a range of biochemical testing on raw materials, stability and finished products. You must be an enthusiastic, motivated individual who enjoys undertaking lab-based responsibilities and is keen to develop a career within a unique and scientifically challenging environment.
Using your background in biochemistry to the full, you will join the friendly Quality Control team and test a wide variety of raw materials, stability and finished products. You will use different biochemical techniques such as ELISA, SDS - PAGE and validating records on assay sheets and the LIMS system. You will assist in the maintenance and optimisation of lab equipment and will ensure that reagent stocks are ordered and maintained efficiently, as well as maintaining high – standard of cleanliness. You will be working with fascinating products and will learn about unique drug development and production programmes. You will also follow GLP standards at all times.

Please note that your core hours are standard 8-4 days Monday to Friday, but there may occasionally be the need to work earlier or later (earliest start 7am, latest finish 7pm).

The successful candidate will have a real interest in Science, particularly Biochemistry. You will ideally have a qualification (A-Levels, BTEC, HNC etc.) in Biology and/ or Chemistry, together with a knowledge of different Biochemical/Chemical principles. If you have not had any scientific education, you will still be considered if you have worked in a Pharmaceutical lab/process environment and have been trained in GMP and GLP. Candidates will also be considered from other settings such as Food, Cosmetics, Diagnostics or Medical Device testing. You will need to have excellent communication skills, a positive and supportive attitude and a real desire to further your knowledge within a unique, ever-evolving Pharmaceutical company.
