Job Description

A fast-developing clinical stage Bio-pharmaceutical company based in Stevenage who manufacture T – Cell therapies for use in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials are recruiting for a Team Leader within their manufacturing operations.  The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the manufacture of these life changing therapies for use in clinical trials in compliance to GMP and will lead a team of six Production Scientists.  This exciting role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract offering a salary up to £50,000 (DOE) plus 13% uplift/shift allowance - shifts will be Monday to Friday on a rotational basis of 7am till 3pm and 11am till 7pm.
 
The Opportunity: The role Production Team Leader is part of the Technical Operations team whose purpose is to develop, manufacture and release products for use within clinical trials.  You will be line managing a team of six comprising of Senior Scientist and Production Scientists with the responsibility for ensuring the delivery of their work and GMP compliance.
 
There is a hands-on element to this role where you will be running manufacturing processes alongside your team, however, as their Leader you will be responsible for the quality of their work, delivery and compliance to GMP.  Taking the lead on the tech transfer of methods into the Production Group and supporting the development of new methods.  As well as managing the review of data and trends to optimise the team’s performance, manage documentation and qualification of activities & methods.  You will work closely with both QC and QA to support relevant activities such as investigations.
 
Desired Skills and Experience:  For this role you will need to have demonstrable experience of manufacture in a relevant environment such as Biologics, Immunology, Bio-pharmaceutical, Cell or Gene Therapies, with experience of leading a team in a GMP compliant environment.  You will need to be educated to at least BSc level in a relevant life science (a higher-level qualification is advantageous but not essential) With experience of the development of assays using cell-based techniques, tech transfer which is advantageous but not necessary, and development of methods is also advantageous. Please note this role operates on a shift pattern - Monday to Friday on a rotational basis of 7am till 3pm and 11am till 7pm which offers a 13% uplift on top of your base salary.
