A pioneering T Cell Therapy company who are developing a technology that revolutionises the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are recruiting for a Senior Stem Cell Processing Scientist to join their leading R&D team based in West London. This is a role where you will be able to apply your science in a cutting-edge environment working for a growing company with great potential now they are moving to clinical trials, meaning there is excellent initial growth in the role to be followed by excellent career prospects.

As well as having the potential to prevent the rejection of new organs following transplant. They are engineering T – Cells ex vivo that suppress the immune system and have the ability to direct the cells to the right area of the body. They are now expanding their operations as their cell therapies progress to clinical trials, develop their pipeline further and develop manufacturing operations for Phase I trials. The Opportunity: They are seeking a Senior Cell Processing Scientist to develop platform processes for the manufacture of the T – Cell based therapies as they move to clinical trials and eventually commercialisation. As a Senior member of the team you will be leading research programmes overseeing their delivery in laboratories and by 3rd parties. Working with senior colleagues to set out R&D programmes using QbD principals to set out time-lines, milestones and budgets. To then project manage these in the laboratories taking these through each development phase to completion. You will be using immune cell processing techniques to develop scalable manufacturing processes for T – cell-based therapies. Plus developing immunoassays for the characterisation of your work including T Cell functional assays. Added to this they use flow cytometry within their laboratories. Once developed you will then transfer these to the manufacturing facilities and or partners.
Desired Skills and Competencies: For this opportunity, you will need to be educated to PhD with expertise in a relevant area such as immunology, oncology, T cells, cell therapies or gene therapies. With expertise in the development of manufacturing and analytical processes. With experience of immune cell processing (isolation, harvesting and expansion for example), cell culture, and T cell functional assays. You will need to have experience of using flow cytometry and immune assay development. If you have experience of using Bioreactors such as Prodigy and/or CliniMACS, Tyto and/or GRex would be advantageous but is not essential for your application.
