A pioneering T Cell Therapy company who are developing a technology that revolutionises the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are recruiting for a Director of Analytical Sciences to join their leading R&D team based in West London. This is a role where you will be able to apply your science in a cutting-edge environment by working for a growing company who have great potential. The company: The company have developed unique T – Cell technologies that are innovative and life changing for patients that suffer from autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. As well as having the potential to prevent the rejection of new organs following transplant. They are engineering T – Cells ex vivo that suppress the immune system and have the ability to direct the cells to the right area of the body. They are now expanding their operations as their cell therapies progress to clinical trials, develop their pipeline further and develop manufacturing operations for Phase I trials. The Opportunity: They are seeking a Director of Analytical Sciences to lead their Analytical Group who are responsible for developing methods to support Process Development and the Quality Control batch release testing of therapies for use in clinical trials. This role covers the development of the strategy group for its growth in numbers and capabilities as the company moves to clinical trial manufacture. As well as managing the relationships with 3rd parties and day to day operations of the group. You will be developing and then implementing the strategy for the group using your expertise of analytical method development, CMC, quality control and batch release testing. Including the growth of the group in terms of numbers and capabilities in line with wider business aims. The Analytical group supports the development of viral vectors (lentiviral) and their T cell-based therapies. This is a role where you will have direct influence on the development of the company with the space to be able to apply your expertise to become part of the leadership team of this fast-growing company.
Desired Skills and Competencies: For this opportunity, you will need to be educated to PhD with expertise in a relevant area such as immunology, oncology, T cells, cell therapies or gene therapies. You will need to have experience in the development of analytical methods to support process development and experience of CMC processes. You will need to have experience of Quality Control processes including batch release and GMP. They currently outsource their development work so experience of working with 3rd parties and tech transfer is advantageous to your application.
