Job Description

A cutting-edge biotech based in Stevenage are recruiting for an IT Systems Project Manager to facilitate the implementation of their new IT business applications that are required due to their continued expansion.  There are a range of new applications to be implemented such as quality management systems as well as a bespoke system that has been developed internally. The company are a leading the way in the commercialisation of life changing therapies, taking these through the commercialisation process using their expertise and cutting-edge services.
 
The role of the Project Manager is to take responsibility for a range of new business applications that are required following the expansion of the site with a number of areas identified that need addressing.  These include their QMS (Quality Management Systems), LIMS (Laboratory Information), and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).  Alongside this there is a bespoke system that has been developed internally that will need implementing and come under the remit of the Project Manager.
 
As the Project Manager you will be working autonomously to develop project resources, GANTT charts, budgets, scopes, risk assessments / mitigation, and timelines.  Using your own expertise to contribute to the strategy for the project with involvement in entire life cycle. This is a highly visible role where you will be working with internal stakeholders and external collaborators, often acting as a first point of contact for relevant parties.  With input into the strategy for projects that you are managing using your own expertise to do so and contribute to the strategy for the team.
 
Desired Skills and Experience:  You will need to experience of managing projects preferably within the Biotech / pharmaceutical / bio-pharmaceutical sectors or other highly regulated sectors such as finance for example.  You will need experience of IT validation processes with Prince 2 or Agile approaches to projects.  If you have experience of GAMP 5, 21 CFR part 11 & Annex 11 understanding then this is advantageous to your applications, as is knowledge of MHRA systems.
 
The Company: The company are a centre of excellence that is at the forefront of creating a viable and sustainable cell and gene therapy industry.  Their headquarters are in central London where they have built a leading multidisciplinary team that has the ability to take a therapy from concept through the development cycle to the market.  They collaborate with both academia and industry and they are able to provide the scientific, clinical and commercial expertise needed to overcome the challenges that hinder the commercialisation of these fast developing, cutting edge technologies.  They have constructed a purpose-built manufacturing centre which opened at the end of 2017 and immediately after opening additional funding was allocated for the centre to be doubled in size due to the demand for their services.  This currently consists of 12 (of which 6 very recently completed) clean room suites out for collaborators to use to manufacture advanced therapies for use in clinical trials.
