Job Description

Do you have a Scientific degree and experience in a Biotech or Pharmaceutical environment where you have worked with 3rd party testing laboratories? A brand-new role has been created in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, for an QC Laboratory Outsourcing Specialist, to help oversee partnership projects with external organisations. This is a permanent position with a very competitive salary (up to £42k, plus excellent benefits) and this will be a great opportunity to build on your experience and develop your career.

You will join a pioneering company that is developing cancer treatments using next-generation T-cell therapies. They have an excellent reputation as an employer and you will be part of something that will be genuinely life-changing for a lot of people. The company is easily accessible, on the outskirts of Stevenage, and provides ample parking.

Reporting to the QC Laboratory Outsourcing Manager, you will work with specialist QC testing labs (some more locally and others further afield) to ensure the timely and correct processing and analysis of samples (some of which are produced in-house and some by CMOs). You will be responsible for ensuring that sample schedules are clearly defined, samples are delivered, booked in and analysed to plan, and projects are completed to specification and on time. Your role will require project co-ordination skills and a strong focus on logistics, working with QC, Supply Chain and external CMO contacts to ensure timely delivery of samples.

You will ensure that all work complies with necessary regulations (GMP, GLP, GDP etc) and will be responsible for strengthening collaborative relationships with your outsource partners, monitoring their performance whilst also finding ways to improve communication and processes between businesses. This will be a busy, varied role which will combine your technical knowledge of manufacturing, tech transfer and analytical QC testing, your communication skills, and your ability to bring all logistical components of a project together.

Requirements

We are looking for a bright, ambitious individual with a life science degree and strong experience gained in a highly regulated Pharma or Biotech environment. Cell & Gene Therapy / ATMP experience would be an advantage but is not essential. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of different QC analysis methods, as well as experience of working in partnership with external 3rd party service providers (ideally for QC testing).

Full details will be provided on application. This is a permanent role in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, paying up to £42k plus benefits, and this salary may be slightly negotiable for the right person.
