Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working in a laboratory to join a company who are developing an oral dose vaccine for COVID.  Working in partnership with a large US based Biotech this company have developed a pioneering technology for the development of vaccines including one for COVID.  With the development now gathering pace they are now progressing further with clinical trials and need 2 Laboratory Technicians
 
The company who are based in West Sussex are pioneers in enhancing the development of vaccines with technology that includes oral dose vaccines making them more accessible globally and can be self administered.  Other key technology includes one that makes vaccines thermally stable so they can reach remote areas that are usually inaccessible, bringing life changing vaccines to those who don’t normally have access to them.  Added to this they are continuing to use their proprietary technology to identify and develop vaccines for other targets as they continue to grow.
 
Purpose of the Role:
 
The purpose of the role of Laboratory Scientist is to join the established team leading research into the development of vaccines, development of viruses of use in clinical trials and other technology.
 
  • Application of aseptic techniques
  • Tissue culture
  • Cell Culture
  • Assays e.g. ELISA
  • PCR and other molecular biology techniques
 
Required Skills and Expertise:
 
 
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Aseptic techniques
  • Tissue culture
  • Cell culture
  • BSc or MSc in a relevant Biological science.
