A pioneering Biotech, based in Wothing, who have developed a unique technology for the treatment of allergies through the use of Vaccines are seeking a Senior Analytical Development Scientist.  Who can join their Development Team that is central to their operations by supporting the discovery of new concepts, manufacturing and quality.   Doing so through the development of Biochemical and Immunoassays to provide analytical insight and data to drive research forwards.
They are developing treatments that cure common and unique allergies through vaccinations, using their pioneering technology that they continue to develop and exploit its potential. They have developed an innovative approach to immunotherapy which will be of particular interest to someone with a passion for scientific innovation.  Added to their focus on innovation they have a number therapies on the market as well as those progressing through clinical trials.
The Opportunity
This role is based within their Development Team which is central to the discovery, manufacture and testing of their therapies.  As a Senior member of the team you will be using your scientific capabilities to develop and validate analytical methods, mentoring more junior colleagues and driving research forwards.
The Development Team are central to their operations by developing methods to support R&D programmes, quality control analysis and manufacture.
Responsibilities includes:
  • Lead projects within laboratories, contributing to their design
  • Mentor and train more junior team members.
  • Lead the development, validation and optimisation of assays e.g. ELISA, Immunoassays, SDS Page, Western Blot
  • Lead the development and validation of Chemistry techniques such as HPLC and Chromatography
  • Analyse data to support development of new vaccines, optimise existing and quality control
  • Manage the transfer of assays
  • Analyse and interpret data to drive research forwards
  • Manage compliance to GMP
  • Use science to contribute to solve complex problems
Desired Skills and Experience
For this opportunity you will need:
  • GMP experience
  • Supervisory or mentorship experience
  • Tech transfer exposure.
  • Method Development and Validation experience
  • Biochemistry expertise ELISA, SDS Page, Western Blot for example.
  • This is complemented by basic chemistry experience – HPLC, GC for example
  • BSc or higher qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Data analysis expertise using
