Do you have experience in business development, tech transfer or account management? Do you have experience writing grant funds? Have you worked within pharmaceutical, cell and gene or other life science industry? If you answered yes, the I might have a great opportunity for you! 

I am headhunting for a fantastic client who are looking to advance the growth of the UK cell and gene therapy industry, by bridging the gap between scientific research and full-scale commercialisation. They have an additional requirement for a Business Development Transaction Manager to join their London site.

The main purpose of this role will be to identify and transact projects to support our leading UK based partners in industry and academia. The right candidate will build and maintain relationships to ensure a flow of high quallity projects. 

This role would be 50% travel 50% remotely based and would require the right candidate to be able to travel to their London site 1 day a week on a Monday.

Key accountabilities: 
  • Build relationships in their territory (UK South) with UK academic, clinical and commercial communities
  • Build close working relationships with UK Technology Transfer Offices
  • Identify and close transactions to secure fee-for-service and grant funded (e.g. Innovate UK, Wellcome Trust, MRC etc.) projects
  • Work closely with the operational teams to build new partner relationships and strengthen existing partnerships
  • Analyse the Cell and Gene Therapy “market” (academic and commercial) to enable targeting of organisations developing new technologies
Education/ Qualifications:
  • BSc hons in a relevant life science
  • MSc / PhD / DPhil would be preferred but not necessary
