The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of cellular biology and cell line development. Individuals with specific experience and detailed knowledge of AAV would be of significant interest.
On offer is a highly competitive salary which can be disclosed upon application. The package will include up to a 20% bonus, LTIP of up to $365k which will be paid out after certain milestones are met (predicted timeframe of 4-6 years) and contributed pension. This candidate may also be eligible for a relocation package if they are relocating to the area.
Skills and responsibilities of the Director of Cell Line Development:
- Expected to contribute significantly to the direction of the cell line engineering team, designing overall strategy and ensuring implementation.
- Have a strong molecular biology understanding.
- Have an appreciation of the impact of non-coding RNA on bioprocesses and biological functions.
- Significant experience and understanding of gene editing tools, CRISPR, Cre-recombinase, etc. for the generation of cell lines.
- Understand and adhere to the requirements for generating a cell line for cGMP manufacturing. Communicate effectively in technical transfer to the process development team.
- You will be expected to directly manage a growing team of scientists and senior scientists, setting goals and objectives and ensure the delivery of projects on time.
- Lab management, ensuring appropriate levels of control over scientific data, equipment, and materials, maintaining appropriate levels of documentation, record keeping, and procedures.
- Interact with senior members of the research team to ensure appropriate experimental design and analysis.
- Collaborate with the international team.
- The ideal candidate will be Ph.D. qualified with several years of demonstrable industry experience in cell line development and ideally from within a Cell & Gene Therapy environment.
- You will be an accomplished leader, with strong team-building skills and the ability to collaborate and deliver across multi-disciplinary projects.
- Innovative and natural problem solver; able to “join the dots” of disparate information.
