I have just received an exciting new opportunity to join a top medical design and engineering consultancy. They are very well established, working with some of the biggest international clients, and are currently looking for a full-time Electronics Engineer that will work on a range of complex Medical Devices. This role will be carried out alongside their vastly experienced team. They offer a very competitive salary alongside flexible working and a range of other competitive benefits.

Responsibilities
Looking for a competent Electronics Engineer seeking to apply their expanding Electronics expertise to the development of exciting new medical devices and technologies. Ideally you will be an ambitious Electronics Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Collaboration is vital to how they work, as is the specific skill that each individual brings to their team. You will use your knowledge of electronic and physical first principles, analytical skills, practical experimentation, and simulation skills to take electronic systems from concepts through to production. You will be a team-player, passionate about mechanics, life science and technologies. You’ll enjoy problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, varied consultancy environment. You’d also have to feel confident when discussing project objectives and challenges with all stakeholders, including clients.

Relevant knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Essential Electronic development experience needed for this role:

  • A degree (2:1) or above in Electronics Engineering or associated course

  • Knowledge of analogue circuit design principles

  • Knowledge of digital electronics principles, 8-bit/ARM micro-controllers, FPGAs etc

  • A solid understanding of common wired and wireless communications protocols including I2C, UART, SPI, Bluetooth LE, USB, Ethernet etc.

  • An understanding of good practice in PCB layout

Desirable Electronic Development experience needed for this role:

  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment

  • Medical device development experience including EN 60601

  • Experience working with the STM32 series of Arm Cortex microcontrollers

  • Experience with low power circuit design

  • Experience designing and testing for compliance, CE/FCC, EMC, radio, safety etc

  • Experience developing systems from concept to design for manufacture

  • Experience conducting FMEAs

  • Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout

  • Basic knowledge of embedded software development in C/C++
