The team consists of some of the leading engineers in the ophthalmic industry and has a track record of developing rapid solutions for commercial and research partners. The current team comprises a mix of R&D, engineering, sales, and management – The team are a focused, dynamic, and highly motivated team that is making significant improvements to eye care technology throughout the UK, US, and beyond.
Job Role
- Leading the transfer-to-manufacture of new product to the sub-contract manufacturers based in Boston.
- Liaising with the sub-contract manufacturer to support production and report back to the VP of R&D.
- Finalising and optimising the manufacturing documentation used by the manufacturers.
- Forming and maintaining the Device Master Record
- Working with the design team to optimise the process and design of the products.
- Working with the operations team to evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Meeting performance targets and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Working closely with the team to continuously improve processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Strong CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Professional use of Microsoft packages – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
