Summary
Alex Dobson is recruiting for an exciting opportunity that is ideal someone who has 2 or more years experience working in the Specials industry for an expanding unlicensed medicines manufacturer based in Surrey (within the M25).  There is more than one role available due to a continued increase in demand for their products.  You will be responsible for the manufacture of products by hand on a small scale in a non sterile environment.  The company offers additional training allowing successful candidates the opportunity to progress within the manufacturing department to more senior roles.

The Company
The company is a manufacturer on unlicensed products for the Pharmaceutical industry supplying hospitals and pharmacies in the UK.  Founded in 2001 they are currently undergoing a sustained period expansion, doubling in size over the last few years, following success in particular after entering into new partnerships to supply a major high street chain.  Over the last few months they have built brand new laboratories increasing their production capability by five times to meet increased demand.  Going forward they are planning to open a new Aseptic facility to increase the services they offer beginning later this year.  The company aims to be “best in class” across all aspects of their service and the range of unlicensed products they offer.  They are able to provide medicines to meet a variety of reasons including formulation and / or presentation, for example taste, allergies or fear of needles.  The company are committed to their employees career’s helping you gain experience and qualifications in other areas of the business to help continue your career.  

The Role
The role of a Graduate GMP Technician is a busy and broad role where you will be conducting a range of duties which includes the bespoke manufacture of specials on a small scale as well as larger scale bulk manufacture and repackaging and labelling.  You will be manufacturing a range of dosage forms including suspensions, gels, creams, ointments, syrups, suspensions etc. on a bespoke basis to order.  It is a busy environment where the manufacture is conducted in a GMP compliant environment following set SOP’s. You will be expected to help with stock replenishment and support the smooth running of operations. In addition to this you will be required to comply with the company quality directives and the compounding procedures aligned to the SOP’s.  

In this role you will gain experience in a range of activities in the manufacturing facility so that you will be able to progress your career further within the manufacturing team.  This is something they believe in and keen to provide employee’s the chance to progress their careers along with the training to support this. 

Experience
You will need to have a Degree or Equivalent in a relevant degree such as Formulation, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry or other.  If you have experience of working in a GMP compliant manufacturing environment or worked with Specials before then this is advantageous to your application and will be looked upon favourably. If you have just graduated or have limited experience then the starting salary is £17,500.
