Job Title: Operations Software Testing Engineer
Location: UK-Cheshire-Wilmslow
 
Overview:
To provide technical expertise for the testing of manufacturing test solutions as part of the digital transformation to automate the Manufacturing Process.
The team you would be joining covers all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering, development, verification and validation for use in production test. The Operations Software Testing Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting the testing / validation of the software.
The role’s emphasis is to ensure that software deployed is fit for purpose, meets the requirements of the stakeholders, and complies to relevant ISO/cGMP regulations.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and maintain delivered products and services from the group.
  • Testing of software deliverables through a combination of both manual and automated testing techniques (e.g. Black-box, performance, stress and load testing) as required by the project.
  • Writing test scripts / documentation and executing tests using the most appropriate test approach.
  • Ensure testing, validation, and release activities are completed to achieve successful product delivery.
  • Experience in using workflow and collaboration tooling such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Communicate the prioritisation of software investigations for escalated, systematic faults and proposed improvements to software products and processes, introducing improvements as necessary.
  • Ensuring that the software delivered is fit for purpose in the planned timescales.
 
Qualifications:
Education:
HND or Degree in science or engineering.
 
Experience:
  • Experience of MassSpectrometers is highly advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices (e.g. Unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, BDD) would be beneficial.
  • Experience / knowledge of Software Validation and compliance to ISO/cGMP regulations.

Competencies:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a cross discipline agile team.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
