A brand new role has been created for an experienced Production Support Technician, to join an innovative Biotech company who are opening a new production facility in Dunsfold, near Cranleigh in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, hard-working individual with experience of GMP / GLP, analytical techniques such as HPLC and UV spectroscopy, and the desire to learn more about product development and manufacturing. Because of the size of the business and nature of the environment you will have a mixture of analytical and production responsibilities. This will make it ideal if you feel you want to push your career to the next level and undertake broader responsibilities and autonomy. Candidates will be considered with more and less experience, at both the ends of the scale between £24,000 and £27,000 salaries.

Company Description
You will join an exciting and innovative business who have developed and patented a novel drug delivery carrier. They can load it with a range of ingredients, ranging from DNA to vitamins and proteins. They are also able to alter the design of their carrier to be polypharmaceutical, allowing several different methods for administration and timed release. This means the carrier can be used across the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and animal health sectors. The company is headquartered in Guildford, Surrey, England and is now opening a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Dunsfold Park near Cranleigh. The facility will be manufacturing different versions of the carrier for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

Some of your initial training will be in Dover (Kent), though once everything is up and running with the new production site you will be based in Dunsfold, Surrey. Dunsfold is not commutable by public transport, so use of your own vehicle is essential. Dunsfold is within easy commuting distance of Horsham, Guildford and Crawley.

The Opportunity
Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering of Production Materials and Consumables
  • Receipt of incoming materials
  • QC Inspection of incoming materials
  • Dispensing of Materials for production
  • Receipt of finished intermediates from production
  • Release of intermediate materials
  • Use of rotary evaporators
  • Use of ERP / stock management systems
  • Daily safety and housekeeping checks
  • Organising shipment of intermediate product
  • Working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

While the new facility in Dunsfold is having its finishing touches done, the first few months of training will be spilt between the companies R&D labs in Guildford and their temporary labs in Dover. You will therefore be spending some time in Dover over the first few months to learn the production processes. Any time spent training in Dover will be funded by the company, including travel and accommodation costs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, and ambitious individual to widen their career prospects and gain experience working with a fascinating and expanding company.

Experience
We are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have 2+ years’ experience working in a GLP/GMP or quality managed environment, with knowledge in HPLC and UV analytical techniques being advantageous. Similarly, knowledge of rotary evaporators and freeze dryers would be preferred. These roles would suit individuals with a strong production background, who want to transition into a broader production-based role, but candidates will be considered from a variety of backgrounds.

You will need to have your own transport and will need to be comfortable with staying in Dover at different points during the initial training, before the job moves full-time to Surrey.

Full details will be provided on application.
