 A Project Manager is required to join a fantastic Pharmaceutical and Biotech company in Swindon. They are the global leader in enabling pharma, biotech, and consumer health partners to optimize product development, including NPI launch and existing commercial products, and full life-cycle supply for patients around the world.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing cross-functional activities for a portfolio of projects through leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and Existing Commercial Product development project teams (and other project teams as designated).   This position is the main point of customer contact for project related activities and involves managing the execution of the customer’s requirements as per an agreed upon program of activities.
 
The role is a 12 month contract position which offers a range of flexibility over location. Their office is based in Swindon however they offer a hybrid working pattern. For a Project Manager who can fulfil all of the essential criteria, they will also consider fully remote working. On offer is a competitive hourly rate ranging from £35.00/hour to £50.00/hour depending on experience.
 
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager
  • Key individual responsible for overall project knowledge and execution according to agreed upon deliverables and timeline.
  • Key customer contact on all project related issues and communication; ensure appropriate and timely communication is maintained.
  • Lead and build cross-functional project teams comprising of representatives from relevant functions; chair internal and customer project teams.
  • Utilize company Project Management Methodology tools and templates to manage project.
  • Demonstrate success in technical proficiency as required for respective business unit.
  • Track progress of project activities, ensure key development milestones agreed upon with customer are achieved, and ensure program proceeds based on the agreed upon timeline.
  • Maintain “overall picture” of the project and provide/negotiate resolution to potential issues internally to prevent delay to project timeline.
  • Evaluate, highlight, and escalate unresolved issues, potential barriers to project progression, and resources constraints to supervisor.
  • Provide comprehensive and seamless, “One Catalent” approach to customers.
  • Ensure “total team preparedness” before customer interface sessions.
  • Discuss any changes in the customer quoted program of activities with internal team members and business development; communicate to the customer and ensure that the changes are fully documented.
  • Assist and contribute as needed to the quoting process.
  • Assist Business Development in maintaining customer relationship and ensuring “return business.”
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities for the position.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
 
Position requirements to be the successful candidate:
  • Experience in project management, business development and handling customer projects
  • Experience in maintenance, operations and pharmaceutical development
 
Knowledge/ Skills/ Competencies required:
  • Demonstrate leadership capability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, results-oriented, and strategic thinker.
  • Experience with the Drug Development Process
  • Experience with MS Project and timeline preparation and maintenance.
  • PMP Certified preferred.
  • Familiarity with LSS principles; Operational Excellence Black Belt/Green Belt.
 
Education / Qualifications:
 
  • BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng Chemistry/Pharmacy/Engineering or relevant discipline.
