Do you have astrong communications background gained in a Biotech, Healthcare or Cell and Gene Therapy environment? Do you have a scientific qualification, exceptional interpersonal skills, expertise in copywriting and a creative approach to scientific communications? We have a brand-new permanent role in Central London with a pioneering Cell & Gene Therapy company, in which you will focus on writing and releasing external and internal communications, including press and news content, as well as writing reports and presenting data.

This is a fantastic, varied opportunity in which you will have a range of duties. Candidates will be considered from agency backgrounds if you are looking for a change of direction into an in-house position, where you will work with some of the most pioneering scientists within the UK.

The purpose of the Communications & Content Manager role will be to support the writing and release of external and internal communications as well as strategy reports and marketing material. You will have line management responsibilities and will be involved with high visibility and high impact projects and provided with the opportunity to further develop your communication skills across multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the Communications and Content Manager:

  • Working with Head of Marketing and Communications to create press releases, news flow pieces and original content to work across multiple platforms including web and marketing collateral.

  • Producing marketing material including presentations, brochures, yearly reports, events banners, video scripts and promotional literature.

  • Working with the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer to write reports to submit into Government.

  • Line management

  • Production of a series of case studies for multi-channel promotion.

  • Working with appropriate teams to develop and publish specific reports demonstrating impact and state of play of the industry.

  • Providing support for marketing events and exhibitions as required including organisation of internal delegations’ visits and development of material for these events.

  • Development of the website copy.

  • Develop company presentations to support business initiatives.

  • Manage, write and develop the monthly external and internal newsletters.

  • Ensure message alignment across platforms and materials and targeted messaging to stakeholders including Government, Industry, Press, NHS, Academia.

  • Ensure consistency in branding.


Skills & Experience required:

We are looking for someone with a degree (or above) in a scientific subject, together with demonstrable copywriting ability and experience of writing press and news content, reviewing and presenting data to different audiences, leading projects and working well with people across fast-paced environments. Candidates will be considered from Biotech, Healthcare and Cell and Gene Therapy environments, and we will also consider people from Comms agency environments who can transfer their expertise to a varied in-house role.
