A clinical stage Cell Therapy company who are at the cutting edge of research because of their unique T Cell technology for the regulation of the immune system.  They have an expanding pipeline of therapies moving to clinical trials and under development at the translational & discovery stages.  Their longer term ambition is to be a global biopharmaceutical company to deliver innovative & life changing therapies to patients.  They are seeking a Data Scientist to join their West London base to accelerate the development of the next generation of therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. 

The purpose of role is to provide expertise in the development of methods for the characterisation, analysis and development of their next generation of therapies.   You will report directly to the Associate Director and will be responsible for the development of novel methods as well a the optimisation of existing processes.  For this role you will need to use your creativity and innovative thinking to develop processes. 

This Team plays a key role in the transfer of knowledge and insights between the R&D and CMC Team working closely with different sub teams.  As this is a more senior role you will have the responsibility for input into the design, execution and delivery of experimental programmes. 

The core responsibilities are:

  • Design and optimise methods for product research and development
  • Develop, run and optimise cell based assays and flow cytometry experiments.
  • Provide scientific expertise to develop assays as well as troubleshooting and optimisation.
  • Analyse data to provide input into research programmes and present data to the wider team.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and groups.
  • Oversee the transfer of methods internally.
  • Mentor more junior team members
Key Experience Required:

  • PhD in a relevant area such as immunology.
  • Good understanding of T Cell biology
  • Demonstrable experience in the development and optmisation of assays.
  • Experienced in the development and running of multi parameter Flow Cytometry.
  • Experience at working with software – e.g. Flow Jo or Prism
  • Experience of mammalian and primary cell culture using aseptic techniques.
