Senior Software Engineer (Computation Chemistry / Drug Discovery) job by Next Phase Recruitment

My exciting client is building a computational pipeline combining state-of-the-art physics-based modeling and machine learning to revolutionize drug discovery and development. They run large-scale deployments of microservices on hundreds of thousands of CPUs and thousands of GPUs, with a backend written in Go, a frontend written in Typescript and React, and Microservices in Python and Rust. Working together with some of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies, they design, test, and optimize novel therapies to treat some of the world’s most difficult diseases.

About You:
You are a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with extensive experience building large-scale compute and database systems who is excited about building software in a modern, infinitely scalable tech stack that leverages cutting-edge machine learning models for the discovery of novel therapeutics. You love designing low-level algorithms and solutions from scratch for unsolved technical problems.

Requirements:

Being able to shape novel therapies by building fast and scalable compute systems
Knowledge of cutting-edge drug discovery, machine learning, and molecular dynamics
Knowledge of Computational Science, Cheminformatics, Protein interactions, and Chemical data
3+ years of work experience in a leading technical role in a start-up or medium-to-large software team
2+ years of full-stack experience on large-scale cloud deployments in GCP (ideally) or AWS/Azure
Excellent command of Python, Go, and JavaScript
Strong familiarity with building large-scale Kubernetes deployments and job scheduling engines
Experience with Typescript, ideally in a React context, and Rust is a strong plus
Familiarity with MLOps and ML tooling is a strong plus
Familiarity with High-Performance Computing is a plus
