Job Description

Are you an ambitious Procurement professional with strong leadership and prioritisation skills gained within a fast-paced setting? We have a unique opportunity for a Procurement Manager, with a leading global Pharmaceutical organisation in Swindon, Wiltshire UK. This is a permanent role with a salary of up to £50,000 (depending on experience), plus annual management bonus (up to 10%) and other benefits. broad range of responsibilities around material cost out, indirect products and services, vendor management, payment terms, contract negotiations and more.

This is a newly created permanent position, with leadership for a number of services across a pioneering, professional Pharmaceutical organisation. It could be an ideal step for an ambitious Senior Buyer looking to move up to a role with creator autonomy and a more strategic focus. Pharmaceutical or Food experience would be highly desirable but is not essential.

The Company

A major Pharmaceutical service organisation based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Across 30+ sites worldwide, the company offers a range of drug development, manufacturing, packaging and distribution services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Swindon site is a R&D and manufacturing facility, producing both large and smaller quantities of patented products. This is a fast-paced, highly regulated business with strong international links to suppliers in China and other global locations.

The Role

The position is responsible functionally for strategic direct and indirect procurement across the site. This includes the development and execution of strategic initiatives that involve material cost out, indirect products and services, vendor management, payment terms, eSourcing, negotiations, contracting, dual sourcing and New Product Introductions to achieve and support the goals and objectives as established by Global Procurement, Site Operations and Key functions.

You will have a variety of accountabilities including Financial ownership, Operational Excellence projects, Procurement Process Compliance and relationship building with key internal and external stakeholders. You will not have direct line management responsibilities but will be part of the management team and will have significant contact with key internal and external stakeholders. Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree education (or similar) in Business, Finance, Purchasing, Engineering or another Operations-related field. You will also need significant Procurement / Buying experience, preferably gained in a Pharmaceutical or Food setting, where standards are very high and process-driven. You might be a Senior Buyer, looking to move up to a more strategic and side-wide position in a fast-paced Pharmaceutical setting; or you may already be a Procurement Manager / Procurement Site Lead looking for a new challenge. We are looking for someone with excellent business knowledge and relationship-building skills.
