Are you an inspirational leader who enjoys building relationships with people at all levels and can manage, support and train lab-based teams? If so, this new position in Central London could be an exciting career opportunity for you.

This is a permanent role for a Quality Manager, within the Cellular Pathology / CellPath of a modern, highly reputed organisation in Central London who have a range of partnerships with NHS trusts. You will be paid up to £54,000 plus excellent benefits (see below). You would be primarily based on site (within a short walk of London Victoria station), with occasional days spent at labs in other parts of London (primarily Hampstead) and the opportunity to work 1-2 days a week from home.

The Role

You will join a team of 10 Quality Managers, who each oversee aspects within their respective areas. You will be personally responsible for Quality in the Cellular Pathology laboratory, which is expanding rapidly and contains state-of-the-art equipment and automation processes. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team during the department transformation with 5 different hospitals.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing and maintaining Quality systems
  • Ensuring optimal use of the eQMS (Q-Pulse) and other systems for sample analysis and data management
  • Overseeing training programmes and ensuring the ongoing development of knowledge within permanent and temporary team members
  • Maintaining ISO15189 compliance and managing audit-readiness, alongside hosting and conducting inspections
  • Undertaking a range of continuous improvement projects
  • Helping to standardise QMS processes across the CellPath department, integrating Quality within all aspects of the labs and adjacent areas
  • Building strong collaborative partnerships across labs, and with other Quality Managers across the organisation

Full details will be provided on application. If you enjoy variety and communicating with a variety of people who make a genuine difference to patients’ lives, this will be an amazing career opportunity!

The Package

This is a permanent role paying up to £54,000 (depending on experience), plus excellent benefits including:

  • Private health cover and cash healthcare plan
  • Life insurance
  • Contributory pension
  • Up to 28 days’ holiday
  • Flexible hours (40-hour week, but with plenty of flexibility of start/finish times)
  • Season ticket loan

  • Employee Assistance Programme (supporting staff wellbeing)
  • and various other staff perks through Perkbox

The Company

A pioneering commercial organisation that has arisen through partnership with the NHS, to deliver state-of-the-art, medically-led diagnostics and related lab services to the healthcare sector. Having recently completed a project to embed Q-Pulse across a few sites, and introduce an innovative sample management system, they are well-known for high standards of quality, efficiency of service and pioneering use of technology to support cellular pathology, biomedical services and medical diagnostics.

Experience

The successful candidate will be an ambitious, self-motivated individual with substantial experience in a Quality role in a regulated environment, ideally under ISO15189 and other UKAS standards. You should have a background in Biomedical Science or similar, and being a registered Biomedical Scientist would be helpful (though is not essential). The ideal candidate will be someone who understands the intricacies of Cellular Pathology, though this is not essential as long as you can demonstrate a strong background from other labs with a mixture of manual and automated processes. You will need to show excellent communication skills, a pragmatic approach to Quality and the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels.

Your primary location will be Central London (walkable from London Victoria), though you will be able to work a portion of your time from home and will be also required to visit other London sites on occasion.
