My client is a ground-breaking organisation that is on a mission to match lifesaving treatments for people with blood cancer and blood disorders.

As part of my client’s work, they conduct world-leading research into cell matching and transplants, including cell & gene therapy development. They are looking for a Research Governance Lead to develop, implement and manage a governance process for new research projects, ensuring an organisational environment in which ethical research can be conducted. This can be located in the London HQ or regionally based working from home

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the research application process;

  • Have oversight for the ethical clearance process

  • Meet all appropriate regulatory approvals are in place for research studies

  • Manage the company research portfolio

  • Deliver training and guidance internally

  • Create an attractive environment for funding agencies to place healthcare research

  • Coordinate preparation for relevant audits

The required background for the right candidate will include:

  • BSC in Biological Sciences or equivalent science

  • Experience of leading research governance in a healthcare, pharmaceutical or biological environment

  • Experience of managing the research ethics framework

  • Knowledge of GCP

  • Experience of designing healthcare research projects

  • Experience of research grant proposals
