Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineers in life sciences lead the development of robust, scalable software systems that support scientific research, manufacturing, diagnostics, and clinical operations. They architect solutions that meet both scientific requirements and regulatory standards, while mentoring junior developers and ensuring high code quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of platforms and applications – This may include tools for managing lab workflows (LIMS/ELN), data visualization dashboards, digital health platforms, or bioinformatics tools.

  • Architecting and optimizing system infrastructure – Ensuring performance, security, and reliability for cloud-hosted or on-premise scientific systems, often working within DevOps pipelines.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams – Engaging with scientists, QA, regulatory, and data teams to ensure the software reflects end-user needs and compliance obligations.

  • Implementing best practices in codebase management – Including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control in GxP or ISO-compliant environments.

  • Supporting integration with lab instruments or third-party APIs – Creating interfaces for seamless data flow and interoperability across platforms.

Strong candidates are proficient in Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript (e.g., React, Node.js), and have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, as well as tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and RESTful APIs.
