Thinking about moving jobs?
Hoping to have something different lined up for the New Year?
Don’t underestimate how stressful it can be!

Unless you HAVE to find a new job, the choice to leave your current role and go elsewhere is down to you, and is probably something you want to keep private. So what should you do if you can’t decide what you want to do?

Go with your gut! (mostly).

Drawing up a list of pros and cons might be helpful, to balance the benefits of staying with the benefits of staying.
BUT…this is a practical approach and it may not take into account your gut feelings.

Talking to friends and family can certainly help.
BUT…prepare yourself for being asked about it every time you see them. “How’s the job search going?” may be a well-meaning question, but can become wearing quite quickly!

Speaking with a decent recruiter is always a good starting point.
BUT…the recruiter doesn’t know everything about you and may not necessarily know what is ‘right’ for you.

Listening to your gut is always something we would encourage. No, following your gut doesn’t always pay the bills, and you need to consider all the practicalities. But ultimately it has to FEEL right. If it feels right, you are going to do your absolute utmost to make it work.
