Perhaps you have dusted off your CV since returning to work at the start of January?

We have already been contacted by a number of people who decided over Christmas to start looking at new job opportunities. And rightly so! Companies have allocated additional budgets...brand new roles are being created all over the place (especially within the Biotech sector)...and recent internal promotions have led to vacancies to backfill people who have moved up.

But don't forget - if you update your CV, make sure you update your LinkedIn profile as well!

Prospective employers are likely to look at BOTH, so please ensure that the dates and job titles in your LinkedIn profile match what you have put in your CV; and make sure your current role is in the present tense and everything else is in the past tense. These are only minor points but are important to help you make the right first impression. Otherwise it is very likely that a meticulous hiring manager will spot the differences, and will therefore focus some of the interview highlighting these inconsistencies, which will never be good for getting off on the right foot.
