May 4 is observed widely as National Renewal Day, promoting self-help initiatives and offering a chance for a new beginning. The day coincides perfectly with Spring coming into full bloom, the days getting longer and the chance to make positive changes that we have been considering for a while.

National Renewal Day was intended to remind us that sometimes all we need is a change to produce something new in our lives. It might be a significant alteration or a minor one, as long as it is significant enough to restore your strength and vitality.

It’s a day to remind you to complete any updates that have been on your to-do list for a while, such as changing your home appliances, online profiles, personal information, or even your career. There’s no reason to put things off any longer!

Perhaps now is a good opportunity to revisit your CV / resume? A lot of people flirt with the idea of moving jobs when they reach the end of the year, but then slip back into familiar routines and find reasons not to take it further. Is this you?

What about taking some time to update your CV, ensure your LinkedIn profile is current and correct, and have a casual look at current job opportunities online? If there is something that catches your attention, even if you aren’t sure you are fully qualified for it, why not give a recruiter a call for a confidential chat?

What better opportunity than National Renewal Day for looking at how you can make some changes to keep things fresh and inspiring!
