Learning & Development is a vital investment for all businesses, but only if it's relevant to helping your team grow professionally. Getting the right L&D programmes in place are important but so is reviewing what you're offering.

With the ever changing landscape of recruitment and automation tools playing a vital role in a recruiters day it is really important to make sure the training you offer is relevant. There is nothing worse than investing the time and money in developing your team to discover that what they're learning was relevant 3, 4 or 5 years ago. Obviously, not every area of what you provide is going to need a regular overhaul....some topics will remain relevant for years but certainly how a recruiter approaches Business Development and building candidate and contact relationships has changed recently.

With some new hires joining us at Next Phase, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to review our whole L&D programme. Whilst it's not been an quick process, it has been rewarding and enabled us to review what we offer and what skills we have in our current team. We have recognised the skills individuals in our team have, and identified how these can be shared to keep consistent processes throughout the business whilst also highlighting what areas we need external assistance with.

Reviewing processes in your business is vital to ensure you can continue to move forward, and shouldn't be put off...remember not everything will need changing!!
