Based close to Horsham, West Sussex a well-established Microsoft Partner IT support business with a broad range of customers requires a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer who can also act as a SME on products and services. If you have your own transport, advanced Microsoft experience across current applications and tools plus excellent client-facing communication skills, this is an excellent opportunity. Please note, the company requires candidates to live in the area local to Horsham. 

The Company

The company are very well established and growing which includes recently opening an operation in the Australasia region. They are a fully accredited Microsoft business partner and provide a range of IT support services to businesses in the South East of England from their Horsham offices. The company is dedicated to offering the most appropriate and latest technological solutions to meet client’s business requirements and invests significantly in training and certifying staff accordingly.     

The Role

This is a broad role supporting clients on a remote and on-site basis in all aspects of their computing requirements while acting as the SME. It involves providing first rate and in-depth support to varied businesses across the South East. You will be responsible for logging calls and resolving issues while acting as the point of escalation for more challenging problems. Working in a timely manner to meet SLAs you will take ownership of calls and manage these through to successful resolution to the client’s satisfaction. Internally and externally you will act as the SME on products and services. In addition, you will work in collaboration with clients on a project basis taking the lead role in significant upgrades, roll-outs and migrations. This is a client driven role which on occasion requires out of hours work for which overtime is paid.  


Candidate will need Microsoft Certified Accreditations and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2/ 2012 R2, Windows 7/ 8/ 10, Office software including Office 365, SharePoint, Azure, Active Directory and MS Exchange. In addition, knowledge of Email security products (Mimecast/ MessageLabs), VMware/ Hyper-V/ XenServer, general LAN, vLAN and WAN technologies, Dell & HP Server plus SAN Hardware, Desktops and Notebooks, HP Switches and Draytek, Cisco and SonicWALL Firewall and Secure Remote Access appliances.

On a personal level, you will be passionate about providing good customer service with very strong communication skills and a personable manner. Given the office’s location and the need to conduct customer visits, a full driving license and own transport is essential. The company require that candidates live in the area close to the Horsham offices.
